Hope's Brag Sheet

A selection of 5 freelancers whose businesses I've helped start or advance

A few things are in extremely poor taste in African society.

Bragging must top the list.

If you don’t understand Swahili, ask your East African friend to translate these common colorful responses to braggarts:

  • Anajiona nani?

  • Sa lazima angetuambia?

  • Ata niko sure anatubeba ufala.

And if I’m your only East African friend, well, do better.

Thus, a catch-22 arises when a potential business owner wishes to display some social proof to get more people to sign up for her FREE-lancing cohort.

It would be enough to discuss the results she’s achieved for herself during her 6-year freelance career. However, mentors’ ability to work successfully with mentees forms the backbone of a powerful pitch.

So, she swallows her reservations, refers to herself in the third person, and samples some freelancers whose endeavors she’s had a hand in molding.

Alex

I’d wanted to add brief descriptions to each testimonial, but it’s impossible to top Alex’s coherent paragraph.

Brian

Ever the ambitious independent worker, Brian shadowed me for a while during my GoTranscript tenure.

Here’s what he had to say about our time working together:

Brian has since started several successful solo businesses, the most prominent of which is ProResume Crafters, a CV/LinkedIn profile revamp service.

ProResume Crafters helps job seekers find and keep jobs they love by offering a wide selection of all-rounded, experience-dependent application guides.

Secure his services here.

Cornelious

Like with many of my unofficial mentees, Cornelious and I met in transcription circles—a transcription cohort, in fact.

But he’s since supplemented his income with content writing. As I’d had ample (probably too ample, lol) experience working at a content mill, I was able to guide his transition and ensure he stood out right from the application phase.

Cornelious’ case exemplifies the exact philosophy of my cohort.

The freelancer a few steps ahead of you is in the best position to guide you through the waters they’ve just swam in.

As I always say, there’s no need to suffer the heartbreaks others have suffered. Your sneaky link has that sector covered.

Yesterday’s problems shouldn’t and can’t be today’s problems.

Kataa hii story.

Elevating humanity’s collective value and experience depends on finding solutions that are just a couple of networks out of your reach.

The FR freelancing cohort supercharges that process.

Randy

And possibly my favorite one, which, like the first, I wouldn’t dare add anything to.

Rose

Two heads are better than one.

The compounding effect of six would be out of this world.
